New ARKHAM CITY Screenshots

i seriously cannot wait for this game.  of course, i need to ACTUALLY FINISH Arkham Asylum.  i’ve been so busy (excuse, excuse) that i haven’t actually finished the game.  maybe i should do that over the weekend 🙂  anyways, copied and pasted this awesome post from one of my favorite geeky sites, CBR:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Rocksteady Games have released four new screenshots from the heavily anticipated “Batman: Arkham City” featuring Batman, Harley Quinn and the Joker in all his demented glory.

Official Press Release

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

Batman: Arkham City will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Games for Windows PC and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in Fall 2011.

P&W Wins Pentaward for Fresh & Easy Kid’s Cereals

The three-strong range, Cookie Bites, Cocoa Sharks and Apple & Cinnamon Smiles, have been designed to achieve cut-through in a category replete with bright colours, artificial flavours and cartoon characters, including well-known licenses such as The Flintstones, and TV “stars” such as Count Chocula.

The Fresh & Easy products are free of artificial colourings and flavours and contain less sugar than many of the mainstream brands, but we wanted to promote these core Fresh and Easy values with a sense of fun. We transformed the boxes into individual characters, each one about to guzzle back a bowl of their favourite cereal. Their bold, graphic style is unique to the market and stands apart from the more visually cluttered branded competitors. To increase engagement and repeat purchase, and imbue the packs with Fresh & Easy’s personality, we also created games, such as mazes and fun word-finders, to feature on back of pack.

healthy FTW!!!

a friend of mine led me to this glorious post:

No, it isn’t turning bisons into burgers; the latest movie monster is terrorizing Buffalo, NY as SNOW SHARK: ANCIENT SNOW BEAST is currently shooting there under writer/director/cinematographer Sam Qualiana. Read on for his comments on his new creature feature.

The 24-year-old Qualiana, who received a “Filmmaker to Watch” award at the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival, came up with the title, poster and even the first teaser (one of two you can see below) for the project before the script was finished. Said screenplay begins with a group of biologists making a discovery that turns tragic; years later, a bunch of cryptozoologists team up to track down the truth about the Snow Beast that appears to be claiming human lives. The cast includes Jackey Hall, Michael O’Hear, Robert Bozak, Chris Wroblewski and John Renna, the latter of whom is also providing makeup FX.

“Production has gone smoothly so far,” Qualiana says. “It’s been rough with the cold weather and trying to keep snow out of the camera lens, but we’ve had a pretty good setup so far to prevent the snow from ruining any shots. I’m hoping to have it filmed before May and ready for the festivals soon after.

“I always have had a fear of sharks,” he continues. “Not a lot of things scare me, but sharks terrify and fascinate me at the same time. I can’t go very far into the ocean without turning around, and even swimming in a lake gives me the willies. No other creature has freaked me out so much. Crocodiles never even bothered me, and they can go on land and water. But the thought of a shark on the land seemed like something insane but horrifying to me. It was going to just be a short to reboot something I had made years ago, but all the buzz and support I got made me turn it into a feature.”

Qualiana is still raising money to complete that transformation. “We have started a fundraiser on, where we are asking for a goal of $3,000 to put toward helping fund the film. It’s a great way to get in touch with other independent filmmakers and fans who want to help support the film even if they can’t be around to lend a hand.”
